Kristy Silbernagel – Featured Photographer

Huge welcome to the awesome Kristy Silbernagel as our featured newborn photographer this week!!

I am a newborn and baby photographer located in Slidell, LA in the greater New Orleans area. I am happily married to my better half, and have two adorable children that are my world. I actually graduated from college with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After working on the External Tank for the Space Shuttle for over 5 years, I decided to change professions. I made the decision to focus on what I love – photography. I opened my studio and haven’t looked back. I love nothing more than photographing sweet newborns. They are my passion, and the reason why our studio specializes in capturing their precious details right after birth.

We all know how cute newborn accessories can complete an image. We asked Kristy about her use of props and accessories and her favorite places to shop…

One of my favorite aspects of running a photography studio is keeping it stocked with lots of fun, new items for my sessions. I love changing out props so that each session is unique and suits each client’s tastes. If you scour the web, you will find a ton of vendors that cater to newborn photography. The ones that tend to catch my eye are the simple, timeless items that don’t take attention away from the baby. I love to create classic images that will look amazing for years to come.

Some of my favorite places to shop for newborn sessions are:
Pooks and Lulu :
Roses and Ruffles:
The Prop Stop:
Snassy Crafter:
LemonDrop Stop:
Sew Whimsey:
