About this shoot:
The shoot was created to depict a “day in the life on a farm” with 3 little girls. They started by gathering eggs from the chickens, to feeding the pig. They then found a great trunk in the barn to play dress up and feed the horses and play in the fields. They day ended with the girls resting near the hay.
Camera used: Nikon D600
Lenses used: 24-70mm f/2.8, 50mm f1.4, 80-200mm f/2.8
Location of shoot: Farm located outside Pittsburgh PA
Favorite way to interact with children while shooting: Because I was dealing with very young kids on this shoot, I really just wanted them to do their own thing. I was able to just let them interact with each other and the animals that were on the farm.
Favorite lighting tip while photographing children: Keep them in an area that allows for you to shoot freely. Watching for distracting backgrounds while containing them in an area that the lighting doesn’t need to be too manipulated with outside sources such as flashes.
Favorite time of day to photograph children or families: Early evening. However not everyones schedule fits for you to be able to do that!
Favorite image from shoot and why: From this shoot, I would say when the one little girl kissed the pig. I think because it was completely unscripted!
