Are you using canned responses in Gmail?
If not, it’s time to start! It will save you oodles of time.
What is a canned response, you ask? A canned response is an email for the truly
lazy smart photographer who wants to save time. You type an email, save your email and name it (such as “newborn inquiry”), and you now have a template to use for every person who emails about a newborn session. This is great for sending welcome e-mails, inquires on pricing, and any other common e-mail you send to clients over and over again.
How to set up and make a canned response email
Click on the settings drop down menu on the right side of the screen of your Gmail home page.
Next, click on the labs tab, and then choose enable canned responses, and save.
Type up the e-mail you want to send to your client. If you want to save it for future clients, click on the drop down menu titled, “canned responses,” and select new canned response.
A box will pop up, prompting you to give the canned response a title. Type a title in the box and hit OK.
Easy Peasy! The next time you want to send that exact e-mail to someone, simply click on the “canned responses” button and choose the title you want!
There you go. I just saved you TONS of time. No need to thank me…I will let you buy me a Diet Coke next time you see me.
